To start the day,&nbsp; was driven from San Diego, past the border through customs at Tijuana, down to the port of Ensenada.&nbsp; It was pretty surreal leaving the country for the first time.&nbsp; At the border, as soon as you pass everything switches. &nbsp; I got a window seat on the bus and got to see a lot of the Mexican coast.&nbsp; Ensenada was beautiful, but I had to get on the ship quickly.&nbsp; Being on the boat is a little shakier than I thought it would be, but I haven\u2019t suffered from any kind of seasickness yet.&nbsp; I met my new roommate and he seems pretty cool.&nbsp; He\u2019s a senior who goes to the University of Santa Barbara, but he\u2019s from the UK.&nbsp; We have a pretty big room and definitely lucked out compared to some of the others I\u2019ve seen.&nbsp; I\u2019ve met a lot of people, and I\u2019m sure their will be plenty more.&nbsp; Overall I had a very big day with a lot of firsts, and I am excited to see everything that lies a head.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"travelersmap-container-69f38c1b3ce72\" class=\"travelersmap-container\" style=\"z-index: 1; min-height: 10px; min-width:10px; height:600px;width:100%; max-width:; max-height:; position:relative;\"><div style=\"position:absolute; z-index:-1;top: 50%;text-align: center;display: block;left: 50%;transform: translate(-50%,-50%);\">Travelers' Map is loading...<br>If you see this after your page is loaded completely, leafletJS files are missing.<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was my first day on the ship.
